How do you design a “Welcome to Florida” dinner? You incorporate citrus and palm leaves of course! We did just that with these gorgeous palm leaf printed linens and cute little clementines. The bright oranges and rich greens accented the dark tones in the wicker chargers and our custom made mahogany bar front. Beige napkins were the perfect choice to subtly bring everything together. A simple detail is always necessary when working with such busy prints. Despite the name, “French Country,” these chairs brought a rustic yet refined element in to our Old Florida theme.
When it came to the centerpieces, we wanted to continue the bright and colorful theme- so we brought in more citrus! Have you ever tried to slice an orange straight through? It’s not as easy as it sounds, especially when you have a malfunctioning fruit slicer.. Our poor perfectionist of a floral specialist was imagining chucking these oranges at the wall while trying to cut the perfectly even slice. Some people think a loose arrangement is beautiful and artistic, she is not one of them. Her philosophy is the cleaner the better. After an unfortunate mishap with a blade and a sliced leg, these beauties were born. Sometimes the pieces that drive you absolutely crazy come out looking the best!
